SolarWinds Orion Security Incident – January 2021 Update

Jan 07, 2021

Happy New Year!

I wanted to provide an update on the SolarWinds security incident first reported in December 2020. While none of Nexigen’s system were affected by this security incident, out of an abundance of caution, Nexigen has taken the following steps to ensure continued security against SUNBURST and SUPERNOVA related to the Solar Winds incident.

  1. Our core Solar Winds products have all been updated with the security patches released by SolarWinds. The Nexigen systems were patched on December 24, 2020. These patches were required by SolarWinds as part of their software suite remediation related to the ORION security incident.
  2. The Nexigen SOC (Security Operations Center) monitors all internal Nexigen systems and has taken additional steps to detect SUNBURST and SUPERNOVA.
  3. Additional internal scans were performed on all Nexigen systems to verify SUNBURST and SUPERNOVA were not present on any Nexigen assets in December.

We are continually monitoring the SolarWinds security incident for any additional developments that may impact Nexigen or our customers.

Thank You and Happy New Year,
